About the Doctor

Dr. Katherine M. Masaki knew she wanted to be an orthodontist from a young age. She would visit her Father's orthodontic office and be captivated by all the tools and equipment used to straighten teeth and give people self confidence. She saw how happy people would become as their teeth straightened. Dr. Katherine M. Masaki is a dedicated orthodontist who truly enjoys creating beautiful smiles. She spends quality time with each patient and creates personalized treatment plans with the goal of an excellent treatment result.

She graduated from Punahou and attended dental school at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. After dental school she attended an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. She then attended the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland where she obtained her certificate in orthodontics and a master’s degree in oral biology. She continues to expand her orthodontic skills and knowledge through many hours of continuing education at study clubs, meetings and lectures throughout the United States.

Dr. Masaki has had special opportunities to work with two excellent, well-known USC faculty orthodontists in their practices in Los Angeles. She also has worked along side her father in his orthodontic office, gaining much experience and insight. Dr. Masaki is a former president and active member of the Hawaii Society of Orthodontists. She is also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Hawaii Dental Association and the Honolulu County Dental Society.

The Honolulu Magazine continues to recognize Dr. Katherine M. Masaki year after year as “Best Dentists in Hawaii,” in the field of orthodontics.

Dr. Masaki volunteers at schools, helps to raise funds for education and contributes to educational funds. She feels it is very important to give back to the community.
